In advance of World Refugee Day on June 20, please join Dr. Sofia Khan, founder of KC for Refugees, for a conversation about Kansas City's refugee community, and the work that Khan's organization is doing to meet the needs of refugees in this area.

Here is an overview of KC for Refugees' mission and work, taken from the organization's site,

"We are an interfaith organization that seeks to unite all who have a passion for welcoming and supporting those who have been forced to flee their home countries and settle here in the greater Kansas City area. The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has designated Della Lamb Community Services, Jewish Vocational Services and Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as UNHCR agencies in the greater Kansas City area and we work closely with them to coordinate the refugee support activities. In addition, we are affiliated with or serve in partnership with International Rescue Committee, and Syrian Relief and Development."

Please join us! Refreshments will be provided.
