Sewing Studio: Make a Fidget Quilt @ 10:30 am (a volunteer sewing opportunity in partnership with Northcare Hospice House)

Are you interested in a new volunteer sewing opportunity? Join us for a sewing class in partnership with Northcare Hospice House, where you'll learn to make something called a fidget quilt--also known as a busy blanket--for the benefit of persons with Alzheimer's.

These quilts are blankets that are enhanced with calming sensory elements, such as pockets, buttons, and pom-poms.

When you're finished, you can keep the quilt (for someone in your life who many need it), or you can donate it to Northcare Hospice House. If you enjoy the blanket-making process and are interested in making more fidget quilts for donation to NHH, the Library hopes to be able to offer this class/facilitate this group on an ongoing basis.

This class will be facilitated by instructors Patti Fair and Barb McCoy, both Northcare volunteers.
