Starting May 26: Curbside Pickup!

We've missed you, Library community! But we're excited to announce that beginning Tuesday, May 26, the Library will offer curbside pick-up of requested items. Here’s how it works. Once you’ve been notified that your hold/requested items are ready, just call to schedule a pickup time in our designated parking lot pickup area. When you arrive, your parking spot’s sign will tell you what to do next. Currently, the Library plans to offer Curbside service Monday-Thursday (10 am-2 pm & 4-8 pm), Friday (10 am-5 pm), and Saturday (10 am-4 pm). These curbside pickup times may be adjusted, if needed. In the meantime, are there holds you’d like to place? You can place those online now, or give us a call, and we’ll gladly place them for you. If you’ve already been notified that you have holds ready for pickup, you can call anytime to schedule curbside pickup next week.

Please know that as the Library expands hours and access in the weeks ahead, it will continue to follow guidance from state and local health officials. Throughout this time, NKCPL will be taking a number of precautions to create the safest environment possible for Library staff and users. For example, Library staff will be issued PPE to help safeguard self and others, and the Library will utilize protective acrylic screens at circulation desks. In addition, Library surfaces will be sanitized frequently, and Library items will be quarantined for three days prior to check-in and re-shelving.

Here at the Library, our goal, as always, is to offer our valued community the highest quality service as safely as possible--and NKCPL Board members, administrators, and staff are working diligently to devise new modes of operation that meet this moment’s unique and evolving needs. The implementation of new safety protocols and the circulation of physical items via curbside delivery are the first and vital steps in the Library’s eventual reopening--an event that we here at NKCPL are certainly eager to see.

Have questions? Please don't hesitate to get in touch. Take care, be well, and hope to see you around the Library soon.
